For the educators of Grace Lutheran School, achieving the institute’s mission of preparing students from PreK through eighth grade for college, career, and beyond is a daily task. Watch how AVID empowers these educators with a growth mindset to discover what works best in their classrooms and provide each child with the exceptional education they deserve.
The Grace Lutheran campus has been an AVID campus for a few years and has AVID implemented through all of the classrooms including preK two through eighth grade. Teachers collaborate and attend weekly professional development in order to effectively support all scholars to receive an exceptional education and to be prepared for college, career, and beyond.
In these videos, you will see a lot of focus on collaboration work and building that schoolwide culture. Most of these videos are in early stages where those structures were being introduced. You’ll see collaboration activities, and work on daily mindset and growth mindset, which is a key piece at Grace. See a little peek into a four-year-old classroom where a teacher created a buddy band system. Our teachers take the strategies and then implement them with what works best in their classrooms. Again, all following the goals that we’ve set together as an AVID school.
The end of the video you’ll see wrap up with the culminating piece for us, which is preparing our eighth graders to be ready to be able to select the high school of their choice. We are very proud of our scholars and our teachers. All of them are working hard and staying very focused and mission-driven to ensure that each child is given an exceptional education.
